Sally Cecilia Hawkins better known as Sally Hawkins is an English actress. She was born on April 27, 1976 in Dulwich, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of Jacqui Hawkins and Colin Hawkins. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1998. She started her professional career as a theatre artist and made her first acting debut in the play Accidental Death of an Anarchist. She made her first film debut in 2002 in the film All or Nothing in which she played the role of Samantha. In 2005 she made her appearance in the TV series Fingersmith by playing the role Susan Trinder. In 2008 she made her appearance in the film Happy-Go-Lucky in which she appeared as Poppy Cross for which she won several awards and nominations including: Alliance of Women Film Journalists Award for Best Actress, Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Actress and Satellite Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. In 2010 she made her appearance in the film Made in Dagenham in which she played the role of Rita O’Grady for which she was nominated for two awards. In 2013 she made her appearance in the film Blue Jasmine in which she played the role of Ginger for which she was nominated for several awards.
